On the occasion of Diamond Jubilee celebrations, Library and Information Centre of St Philomena College Puttur organized inaugural programme of ‘Book Exhibition’ on September 9, 2017 in Library Hall of the College.
The Principal Prof. Leo Noronha inaugurated the programme and said, ‘Books are the best companions of our life. Books are the source of knowledge. We should treat books as our children. It is very essential that the students must inculcate the habit of reading books and enrich their knowledge.’
The Selection Grade Librarian Mr. Abdul Rahiman G in his welcome address said, ‘As per 12th Five Year Plan guidelines, the College has received UGC grants to buy books to the library. In this regard, more than 370 various types of books are bought and kept in this exhibition. These books are available to the students and the staff to increase their knowledge on various subjects.’
The members of Library Advisory Committee, faculty members and the students were present on this occasion. The library staff Mr. John Lobo, Mrs. Zita Noronha, Mrs. Catherine Crasta, and Mr. Peter Clifford D’Souza coordinated the programme.
