The Chief Guest of the function, Mrs. Shailaja Bhat, Former President of Zilla Panchayat, Mangalore in her key note address said, “Women empowerment is very necessary to make the bright future of the family, society and country. Women need fresh and more capable environment so that they can take their own right decisions in every area whether for themselves, family, society or country. In order to make the country fully developed country, women empowerment is an essential tool to get the goal of development. There are many formulating strategies and initiating processes started by the government of India in order to bring women into the mainstream of development.”
The President of the function Prof. Leo Noronha said, “The girl students of St Philomena College are law abiding, talented, disciplined and competent. “
He further said, “Women play several important roles in the society. Today she is not confined to four walls but she is shining in different walks of life.” Quoting the words of Victor Mark Hugo he said, “Men have sight but women have insight’, women are capable of looking at things in depth, analyzing it and interpreting it.”
The Co- convenors of Women Empowerment Cell Ms. Suma and Ms. Harshitha was also present.
Ms. Sahana Rao and group with a prayer song invoked God to shower his choicest blessings. Mrs. Venkateshwari, Convenor of Women Empowerment Cell welcomed the gathering.
