St Philomena College, PG Department of Physics had organised an Inter collegiate Physics Fest – ‘Phoenix-2015’ on 13th February. The principal of the college Prof Leo Noronha was the president of the function. Rev Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, Chairman, Centre for PG Studies and Research of St. Philomena College was the chief guest of the function. Dr A P Radhakrishna, H.O.D of Physics was the guest of honour. Dr E Deepak D’Silva, Coordinator of P.G. Physics escorted the dignitaries on to the dais. The inaugural programme began with invoking God’s blessing by Ms Chaitra and group. The president inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. The chief guest in his address, advised the students to always have thirst for knowledge so that they can enhance their creativity in the subject. He also said that, any institution will excel only when it has enthusiastic students and committed faculties.
The principal Prof Leo Noronha in his address congratulated MSc students of the College for hosting the fest appreciated the efforts made by both Faculties and Students of PG Physics in hosting different Departmental activities. Master of Ceremony for the programme was Ms Fathimath Asheeda, student of II Year MSc. Ms Kalpashree welcomed the gathering and Ms Nisha proposed the vote of thanks.

In the valedictory function Presidential address was delivered by Prof Leo Norohna. Rev Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro was the Cheif guest. Dr A P Radhakrishna and Dr E Deepak D’Silva were present on the occasion. Ms Varsha Moleyar welcomed the gathering. Physics Forum President Ms Sowmya Rai read out the winners list and Ms Prathibha proposed the vote of thanks. Ms Ashwini of II MSc was the master of ceremony.
The Championship under UG category was bagged by St Aloysius College, Mangalore and runner up award was won by Alva’s College Moodabidre and under PG category championship was bagged by SDM College Ujire and runner up award was won by Mangalore University.
