‘Philo Ninaada-2017’- Mangalore University Music Competitions

Mangalore University Student Welfare Office and St Philomena College Puttur will organize Mangalore University Level Intercollegiate Music Competitions ‘Philo Ninaada 2017’ on August 22 and 23, 2017 in college auditorium.

The inaugural programme of the Music Competitions will be held on August 22, at 9.30 am.The Registrar of Mangalore University Prof. K M Lokesh will inaugurate and Chartered Accountant CA.M Jagannath Kamath Mangalore will participate as the chief guest.‘A’ Top Graded Ghatam Artist, AIR Mangalore Vidwan Trchi K R Kumar will be the guest of honour.The Correspondent of the College Very Rev.Fr Alfred J Pinto will preside over the programme.

The valedictory programme will be held on August 23, at 3.45 pm.The Campus Director and the Chairman, Centre for PG Studies of the College Rev.Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro will participate as the chief guest. The Director of Students Welfare Office,Mangalore University Prof.Udaya Barkur will be the guest of honour.The Principal Prof.Leo Noronha will preside over the programme.

‘Philo Ninaada 2017’ consists of eight events, namely, Classical Vocal Solo, Classical instrument Solo-Percussion, Classical Instrument Solo-Non-Percussion,Light Vocal-Indian,Western Vocal,Group Song-Indian,Group Song-Western and Folk Orchestra.

More than 500 student artists from various colleges of three districts, viz, Udupi, Dakshina Kannada and Coorg of Mangalore University region are expected to participate in ‘Philo Ninada 2017.
