Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of St Philomena College Puttur organized a workshop on ‘Effective Teaching’ for the faculty members of the college on July 29, 2017 in PG auditorium.
The Campus Director and the Chairman of Centre for PG Studies and Research Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro in his inaugural address said, ‘A great teacher is one who possesses incredible knowledge of the curriculum and expertise in the language.’
The Principal Prof. Leo Noronha presided over the programme and said, ‘Teaching is a noble profession. Teacher is an administrator of the class. Teachers should never demand respect, they should command it.’
In the first technical session, Fr. Arun Lobo, Director of Shanthi Kiran Counseling Centre Mangalore presented on the topic ‘Understanding Youth Psychology’.
In the second technical session, Prof. Vrishabharaj, Former HoD of Physics, SVS College Bantwala spoke on the topic ‘Teacher effectiveness’.
Assistant Professor of PG Studies in Mathematics Ms. Amritha Shenoy rendered the prayer. IQAC coordinator Dr A P Radhakrishna welcomed the gathering. Coordinator of PG Studies in Physics Dr E Deepak D’Silva proposed the vote of thanks. Assistant Professor in Commerce Ms. Jesline D’Cunha compered the programme.
