Eligibility:

Eligibility For MSW :

Any Degree with minimum marks 45%(SC&ST 40%).Selection of candidates shall be on merit-cum-reservation on the basis of 50:50 weight age for marks in the entrance and qualifying examinations.

Eligibility For MCom :

B.com Or BBM degree with minimum marks 45%(SC&ST 40%)

Eligibility For Msc Physics :

Candidates who have passed the three year B Sc degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University with Physics as major / optional /special subject are eligible. They should have also studied Mathematics as major / optional / special / minor / subsidiary subject for at least two years at the undergraduate level and secured a minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ST candidates) marks in Mathematics.
Candidates who have passed the BSc Ed Degree examination (Regional College Scheme) of any university are eligible for admission to the programmes, provided they satisfy all other requirements mentioned in (1) above
 

Eligibility For Msc Mathematics :

Candidates who have passed the three year B.Sc. degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto with Mathematics as major/optional/special subject are eligible for the programme provided they have secured a minimum of 45% (40%for SC/ST/Category-I candidates) marks in Mathematics.
Candidates who have passed B.Sc.Ed. degree examination (Regional College Scheme) of any University are eligible for admission to the programme, provided they satisfy all other requirements in (1) above.

 

Procedure:

Meritorious students desirous of admission to the PG  Programme may obtain the prescribed application form and the prospectus from the Administrative Office of the St. Philomena College, Puttur – 574 202, Karnataka, either in person or by post, paying the specified cost through a Demand Draft payable to the Principal, St. Philomena College, Puttur – 574 202, subsequent to the notification for admissions. As a routine, application forms will be available for purchase from the month of May, every year. The duly filled in application form, along with attested copies of marks cards and other documents, must be submitted at the office of the Principal of St. Philomena College, either in person or by post, on or before the date mentioned in the form itself. The College will not be responsible for any delay in receipt or non-receipt of the applications sent by the students who themselves must ensure the submission of application on time.

THE STUDENTS SHALL KEEP WITH THEM SUFFICIENT ATTESTED XEROX COPIES OF THEIR ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS/ CERTIFICATES

The following documents should be attested and enclosed with the application at the time of its submission:

  1. One photo copy of the SSLC certificate as a proof of age/ date of birth.
  2. One photo copy of the statement of marks of all the qualifying examinations.
  3. One photo copy of the Conduct & Character Certificate issued by the previous College of Study.
  4. One photo copy of the Transfer Certificate for students from Colleges under Mangalore University.

Candidates selected for admission after a scrutiny of the application and attested copies of all the enclosed documents thus received, will be called for a personal interview with the Principal. Validity of admission is subject to the fulfillment of all eligibility requirements specified in the rules, regulations and prevailing orders of the Mangalore University and the Government of Karnataka, the full payment of prescribed fees, the submission of all original certificates and other documents( including Migration and Eligibility Certificates, wherever applicable), 3 passport size photos and the acceptance of rules and regulations of St. Philomena College, Puttur.

Students referred by the University / Government for admission to seats belonging to Government Quota must submit the official order for admission along with all original documents listed above, with the (college) copy of receipt of payment of fees, in person. Nonetheless, they too must submit a duly filled-up prescribed application from the College, finalizing the formalities for admission to St. Philomena College.
