The Department of Physical Education of Mangalore University and St Philomena College Puttur will jointly host ‘B Sadananda & Vamana’ Memorial Mangalore University Inter Collegiate Foot Ball Tournament 2019-20. The MLA of Puttur constituency Mr Sanjeeva Matandoor will inaugurate the tournament at 10.30am on September 23, 2019. The Chairman of D.K. District Football Association Mr D M Aslam will participate as the chief guest. The Principal Prof. Leo Noronha, Director of Physical Education of Mangalore University Dr Kishor Kumar C K, Campus Director Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, Principal of St Philomena PU College Rev. Fr Vijay Lobo, Assistant Youth Empowerment and Sports Officer of Puttur Mr Mamachan M, Former Weightlifter and Alumnus Mr Krishnappa Gowda and Former Athlete and Alumnus Mr Sajjan Kumar K will participate as the guests of honour. The Correspondent Very Rev. Fr Alfred J Pinto will preside.
The valedictory function will be held at 3pm on September 26, 2019. The President of Puttur Taluk Panchayath Mr Radhakrishna Borker will distribute the prizes. The Executive Director of S.G. Corporates Puttur Mrs Ranjitha Shankar will be the chief guest. The Campus Director Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, Principal Rev. Fr Vijay Lobo, President of Mangalore University & College Physical Education Directors Association Mr James Oliver, Former Captain of Mangalore University Football Team and Alumnus Mr Divyadarshan Y M and the Former Captain of Mangalore University Football Team and Alumnus Mr Premnath H K will participate as the guests of honour.
Mangalore Zone tournament will be held from 23rd to 25th and inter zone tournament will be held on 26th of September 2019. In Mangalore Zone 40 teams and in inter zone tournament 4 teams will participate in this prestigious championship.
The Physical Education Directors of the College Mr Prakash D’souza and Mr Rajesh Moolya will coordinate the tournament.
