Guest Lecture on Food Science and Technology

Food Science and TechnologyThe Science Forum, Alumni Association and P. G. in Social Work of St.Philomena College Puttur jointly organised a Guest Lecture on Food Science and Technology on September 3, 2014 at Silver Jubilee Memorial Hall.

The Resource Person, Mr. H.M Krishna Kumar, Deputy General Manager, Campco Chocolate Factory, Puttur speaking on the occasion said, “ For a healthy body nutritious food is essential. In our country there are no facilities to preserve the food grains, vegetables and fruits produced by the farmers. Therefore there is lot of wastage and untimely supply of food grains. The need of the hour is to make use of modern food technology so as to prevent wastage and make it available for the future generation.”

The Guest of Honour, Rev. Dr. Antony Prakash Monteiro, Campus Director and Chairman of P. G Studies said, “We have enough natural resources in our country but due to bad planning we have not been able to take the best advantage of it. Therefore we need to properly plan to make use of our resources so that we can take the best advantage of this.”

Prof. Vishnu Bhat, Vice Principal presided over the function. Prof. Uday Kumar, Director of Science Forum and Mr. Bharath Kumar, Secretary of Alumni association was also present.

Ms. Moksha and Group sang the prayer song. Mr. Jaya Kumar Rai, President of Alumni association welcomed the gathering. Ms. Joyline proposed the vote of thanks. Ms. Pallavi compeered the programme.
