The three national Science Academies (Indian Academy of Sciences, Bangalore; Indian National Science Academy, New Delhi; and The National Academy of Sciences, India, Allahabad) jointly offers two – month Summer Fellowships to students/teachers (studying/teaching in India) to work with scientists associated with the three Academies during 2018. Two students of Post Graduate Department of Physics, St. Philomena’s College, Puttur have been selected for this prestigious fellowship. The selected candidate would work with the assigned guide for two months any time during the calendar year, preferably during the summer. The selected students will be provided appropriate round trip train fare and a monthly fellowship to meet their living expenses at the place of work.

 

Ms Sindhu D.G. of I M.Sc. Physics, St. Philomena’s College, Puttur has been selected for this prestigious fellowship to work under the guidance of Dr Karunakar Nanda, Professor, Materials Research Centre, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru.

 

 

Ms Vidya Saraswathi A. of I M.Sc. Physics, St. Philomena’s College, Puttur has been selected for this prestigious fellowship to work under the guidance of Dr M. Venkat Ratnam, National Atmospheric Research Laboratory (NARL), Scientist, Department of Space, Government of India, Tirupati.

St. Philomena College was founded by Msgr Antony Patrao who felt that a College in this part of the state would save the people of the inconvenience of moving to distant places for higher education. He set out to realize.
