Physics Seminar“’Radiation and Environment’ is extremely important and relevant topic. In this world of science and technology there has been enormous and significant progress. The drawback is that the progress interms of production will demand something from the environment. The urge of achieving materialistic progress may lead to the destruction of the environment,” said D. V Gopinath, Former Director, HSE&B Group, BARC, Mumbai in his key note address. People have a wrong notion that atomic energy that has brought radiation in the environment and any amount of radiation is harmful to the environment. But the fact is that we are surrounded by the radioactive elements, even the food we consume has radioactive elements in it and it is harmful only if it exceeds certain limit.
