The P.G. Dept of Social Work had organized pre-conference seminar on Nov. 18th at P. G. department of social work in view of equipping students for the upcoming national conference on the theme ‘social innovation and change making a way forward’ which is being organized on 3rd and 4th December 2015 at SJM hall, St Philomena College Puttur in partnership with ASHOKA innovators for public.
‘Social innovation is a new idea with a new relationship towards a social change and social workers should be effective change making agents in the society’, said Tinu Aleena Bose, Second year MSW student while presenting her seminar paper.
Mr. Durgaprasad B second year MSW student also spoke on the opportunity of social entrepreneurship in the social work education.
Mr. Prasanna Kumar, coordinator MSW department explained the process of conference and explained the theme and subthemes of the conference. Conference convener Fr. Prince moderated the proceedings. All faculty members and MSW students were present on the occasion.
