The students’ council of St. Philomena College celebrated the Teachers’ Day on 5th Sept. in the Silver Jubilee Memorial Hall, in a very special mode. Prior to the celebration the council, as a gesture of respect interviewed the retired Professors who extended their service for the growth of this college. They also had interviewed some lecturers in the campus. The clippings of those interviews had been displayed on Teachers’ Day. A documentary on Dr. S. RadhaKrishnan   was also displayed on the occasion. All the members of the staff were honored with a memento as a token of the students love and respect towards teaching faculty.

V.Rev. Fr. Gerald D’Souza, the Correspondent of the college presided over the programme and in his Presidential address, remarked that he was happy to witness the programme. The programme of the kind will help in bringing about a healthy relationship among the students and the teachers.

The Principal Prof. Leo Noronha, complemented the Students’ Council for having a different concept in celebrating the Teachers’ Day .Campus Director Rev. Dr. Antony Prakash Montheiro and Vice Principal, Prof. Vishnu Bhat were present.

The Students’ performed theme based cultural programme. The Teachers also presented cultural programme.

Mr. Shahanfar welcomed, Manasa and group rendered prayer and Mr. Durgaprasad proposed vote of thanks. Ms. Priyanka  of III B.Sc. and  Mr. Jostin D’Casta of I B.Sc. compeered the programme. Prof.Udaya K. and Prof. Bharathi s. Rai, Student Welfare Officers guided the students.
